Advancement of acid etching systems let the bond between tooth and material be more reliable. As the chemical bond can not be adequately achieved in metal crown - bridge restorations, mechanical retention gains importance. The objectives of this study were to determine the bond strengths of various cements after etching the dentin surface. In this respect, the dentin surfaces that were removed from extracted noncarious human teeth, were subjected to three different agents. Then zinc phosphate, polycarboxylate, glass ionomer cements end Panavia EX were applied on three surfaces. In addition, the treated, dentin surfaces were photographed by Scanning Electron Microscope.
The results showed that dentin treatment systems increased the bond between cements and teeth, Also the bond strength between the etching materials and different cements were evaluated.
